Hi, I’m Christine – writer, traveller, baby boomer, foodie – celebrating life after working and all it has to offer, taking notes and photos along the way. BoomingOn is my way of sharing that with the world.
I live in fabulous Canberra and am a proud mum and grandma (we prefer ‘ Marsie’) to a growing tribe. I’ve written for years in different ways and now, as a recent retiree with more time to travel and embrace living, I’m keen to discover new adventures and experiences in this amazing world of ours, and inspire others to do the same.
I write about travelling, my home town, arts and entertainment, kids and family, and getting older and retirement. The fun things and sometimes the serious things. I keep it real, and try to make it fun. Life’s too short not to have a giggle. And maybe a tear or two.
I’d love you to join me on the trip (there’s a ‘Follow’ button at the bottom right of the blog. I find sometimes it’s a bit tricky and you might have to ‘hover’ around there to make it appear). And don’t be too shy to say hello.
Or pop in on Facebook or Instagram.
Thanks so much for the follow on my travel blog. I’ll enjoy your explorations of Canberra too.

Hi Christine,
thank you for referring to our Greeter community on https://boomingon.wordpress.com/2019/08/06/free-walking-tours-of-brisbane-discovering-hidden-secrets-with-a-local/
Recently we have changed our name and URL: following a decision by our members, we have now established the “International Greeter Association” and our website is now https://www.internationalgreeter.org.
May we ask you to change the URLs on your blog? We would like to post a link to your blog on our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/internationalgreeter afterwards.
Thank you

Hi Christine, Nice to meet you through #MLSTL Initially I could not locate your blog site and then I found it through Firefox versus Safari. I have subscribed to your fun, interesting blog:) Erica

Lovely to have to along, Erika! (which spelling do you prefer?). How strange you couldn’t find the blog on Safari. I always try to have fun!

Hi Christine, I think it was a combination of things. When I click on your site from my Reader page, it shows an inactive site. So I went to Firefox and clicked on your site from Sue’s page. I had no issues. I usually go by Erica (although, both are correct – a separate story:)

Love your posts and blog and the whole concept! I totally agree about there being life after retirement. A great time to pursue something new or old that you’ve wanted to do all along 🙂 You’re doing great work! ~Kathy
